Extrait :

In the autumn of 1914 a young Swiss artist moves to Paris, imagining a life in architecture. His first project is giving himself a new name. His second is giving architecture a new project. He does this with the invention of a universal building system he calls Maison Dom-ino. Soon after Dom-ino is drawn Europe is indeed destroyed. It is eventually rebuilt; not once but twice. But not with his patented system. Consequently, Dom-ino’s ideas are left to the architect himself to tinker with; a personalised prototype for further theoretical refinement, not industrial application. This is the condition that instigates its influential afterlife, as a vessel for ideas more than a vehicle of inhabitation.
